3 Tips for A Healthy Holiday

The holidays can be a time to indulge in your favorite meals and treats. However, if you would like to make your holiday a little healthier, check out the following tips!

    1. Eat More Veggies

Adding more vegetables to your holiday meal will provide you with a number of benefits. Green leafy vegetables, such as kale and collard greens, have many vitamins and minerals, plus the water content in these vegetables will keep you hydrated during the drier winter months.

    2. Limit Alcohol

While having the occasional glass of red wine may have its benefits, drinking too much alcohol will do your body more harm than good. According to the National Institutes of Health (NIH), large consumptions of alcohol can weaken your immune system, cause acid reflux, among other things.

    3. Stay Active

Just because it’s the holidays, does not mean that you have to put your workout on the backburner. Perhaps taking a brisk, 30-minute walk in the morning before holiday festivities will help you stay on your fitness track. Whatever you choose to do, have fun while doing it!
